14th Graduation Ceremony of the 48 Crystal Set & Launching of the Luminous Magazine 2024/2025 Academic Session
The Eucharistic Heart of Jesus Model College, Ibonwon-Epe, held its 14th Graduation Ceremony on Saturday, 5th July, 2025, marking yet another remarkable milestone in the school’s illustrious history. The event celebrated the achievements of the 48 graduating students of the Crystal Set, alongside the official launching of the school magazine, Luminous.
The day commenced with a Thanksgiving Mass, where the entire school community, parents, and distinguished guests gathered to thank God for a successful academic journey and to entrust the future of the graduates into His hands.
Following the Mass, the graduation ceremony began with an opening prayer led by Rev. Sr. Helen Olorunfunmi, invoking God’s blessings upon all present.
A major highlight of the day was the formal presentation of the 48 Crystal Set graduates to the world by Mr. Adetayo Gbolahan, the Vice Principal (Academics). In a graceful procession, the Head Boy, Master Izundu Ebubechukwu, proudly led his fellow graduates to the stage amid cheers and applause.
The guest speaker, Miss Agnes Omovusu, a distinguished alumna of the school, inspired the graduates with heartfelt words drawn from her own life experiences. This was followed by an uplifting address by the Chairman of the occasion, Mr. Izundu, who commended the school for its steadfast commitment to nurturing excellence and shaping future leaders.
The Principal, Rev. Sr. Catherine Oparaji, then delivered a touching speech, congratulating the graduates and urging them to uphold the values and moral integrity instilled in them by the college.
The induction of the graduates into the school’s alumni body was conducted by Barrister Zara Okadigbo of the 2017 set, who warmly welcomed them into the growing network of accomplished past students.
An exciting segment of the ceremony was the presentation of awards to the four quadrants, recognizing students who excelled in academics, leadership, departmental achievements, and character, underscoring the school’s dedication to holistic development.
The valedictory speech was eloquently delivered by Iykeobi Tochi, the Head Girl of the set, who, on behalf of her fellow graduates, expressed deep gratitude to the school management, staff, and parents for their unwavering support and guidance throughout their stay.
Another significant highlight was the official launching of the Luminous magazine, anchored by Mr. Izundu Tochukwu, the Chairman of the day. The vibrant publication captures memorable activities, creative works, and the achievements of the students throughout the academic year. The enthusiastic support from parents and guests during the launch demonstrated their continued partnership with the school.
The ceremony concluded with the cutting of the graduation cake, joyful photo sessions, light refreshments, and warm farewells. Mr. Arabono, Secretary of the Graduation Committee, gave the closing remarks, appreciating everyone for their presence and support, while the closing prayer was led by Rev. Father Noel, committing the graduates and guests into God’s hands.
